2016 Reading Challenge: Book 34

dark-matter

Book 34: A book published this year, Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

Have you ever wondered about the path not taken? Have you ever considered choices that you’ve made and wondered what your life would be like if you had chosen differently? It’s human nature to consider the “what ifs” throughout our lives. But do those choices define who we are?

This is the crux of Crouch’s novel; the main characters continue to question the choices they have made and the places that those choices have led them to. Each choice has very real, horrifying consequences that Crouch explores in this haunting, ambitious novel. Though it starts out a little slowly and limps along due to Crouch’s lackluster style, the content is mind-bending and the plot will keep you on the edge of your seat once you get into the thick of it. This story is part science fiction, part thriller, 100% worthy of your time.
